Our Mission

ExpresArte Cultural Wellness Collective, is a BIPOC-led organization which fosters the well-being of BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities in rural San Joaquin Valley by centering cultural strengths and providing holistic support. Our vision for the future is a mental health landscape where BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals—regardless of where they live—have access to high-quality, affirming, and culturally competent care.

Our Values

ExpresArte values center on the importance of addressing the stigma and accessibility around healing spaces. We believe individuals deserve to feel safe and to heal.

Through our transformative justice programming, we hope to build a stronger community that can heal while learning sustainability practices.

ExpresArte seeks to be a positive and shame-free space where community members can collectively work towards their own liberation.

“The communities in the Central Valley deserve to heal from the severe levels of disparity that they’ve been subject to at the hands of White Supremacy. Bringing the collective together in 2019 signified a shift towards trauma-informed organizing and a commitment to transforming the valley for the better.”
